Hohenstein Lodge

Hohenstein Lodge is situated at the foot of the mighest mountains in the Erongo massif. In the evening the mountain glows a dreamlike red in the spectacular desert sunsets.

From the terrace of Hohenstein Lodge's restaurant one enjoys views that can not be adequately described of the 1,469m mountain the far side of the valley with its ancient camel thorn trees. It really has to be experienced to be believed.

Hohenstein Lodge has 14 spacious bedrooms, each with its own shower, toilet, safe and shady verandah from which you can experience the unique outlook over the landscape.

Hiking

Hohenstein Lodge has four hiking trails, the Damara, Kudu, Panorama and Mineral trails, each offering a different experience of the neighbourhood. All our hikes are guided so as to give the visitor a deeper insight into the animal and plant life you will encounter.

Birdwatching

Hohenstein Lodge has birds in great numbers and in great variety. Within some hundred metres of the lodge are two spacious hides in which you can sit and watch the birdlife at the water holes.

Game drives

Enjoy guided game drives on our property, the early morning and shortly before sundown being the most fruitful. Among the game you can see on our property are Springbok, Gemsbok, Giraffe, Wildebeest and Hartebeest.
