Fort Francois - Khomas Hochland

Located approximately 50km west of Windhoek on the C28 Fort Francois is a popular stop. The small fort of about 8x10 meters is situated on a small hill overlooking a dam.

Established to protect the trade route it was also used as a "dryout" post for misbehaving Schutztruppe in Windhoek. It was discarded in 1893.

It was named after Curt von Francois.
